Would 0.5 ml syringe of Restylane be enough to fill my lips? (photo)

Thank you for your post. Half a syringe of Restylane .5cc should be enough for your upper lip. You can always add more a week later once the swelling goes down if you decide that you would like them a little more full.

It depends on how the skin and volume shows after the injection.  As you stated and the way most injectors do it is to go slow and steady.  Over filling and placing all of the filler above the vermillion can cause the infamous duck lips. The best recommendation is to see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in fillers and get their opinion.  I wish you all the best. 

That assumes that the injector you goes to knows what they are doing.  That is a big if.  Do your homework on the injector.  You are asking someone to sculpt the face.

In my opinion, subtle lips can be obtained by using a half a syringe (.5) in  the upper lip if your  ratio of upper to lower permits . Find a person with expertise and filler. Ask to see photos.

Especially since you want a subtle look, I think .5cc is a good amount.  You can always put more if you want more.  

Restylane .5 ml may be enough to fill your upper lip.  You can start with that amount and if you do not think it is enough, more can be added.

When injecting the lips, several actions occur including:
the volume of the filler injected, and volume increase due to the hydrophillic (water attracting) response of the gel, muscle response to the xylocaine causing weakness and muscle pout for 1-24 hours,IgE, IgA, histamine and other inflammatory swelling for 1-3 days.I agree that 0.5 cc of Restylane would add enough volume to expand the vermillion creasing. You can easily return for more if you like it and wish move lip volume. Filler to only one lip will appear distorted due to #2 and #3 above, use a bit of the 0.5 cc Restylane in the lower lip as well. Always use a skilled and experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for your best results. They know the anatomy and better filling techniques to avoid distortion like the "duck lip" you mention.

0.5 cc Restylane may be enough to get what you want. the duck appearance does not come from too much material but incorrect placement so see a board certified and experienced dermatologist

I think you have beautiful lips to start with and a little filler would go a long way. I recommend you see an experienced aesthetic physician for an in person consultation to determine what is the appropriate filler and filler amount for your lips.
