Rhinoplasty excess tissue - Can this easily be removed? Or will it come back? Can my breathing get worse? (Photos)

Question

I had rhinoplasty done 8 years ago abroad. Overall the appearance is ok. But since the third week I developed this band scar tissue which closed up my nostril. Can this easily be removed? Or will it come back? Can my breathing get worse? The nose became smaller, so my nose already a bit harder to breath. A surgeon told me he would not do revision because then the nose would get broader and bigger. He told me even a GP could remove this excess tissue. Would like some advice... Thanks

The scar band that has formed is unusual.  From the photo that you have provided it appears that the scar band is behind the external portion of the nostril and involves the mucosa of the nasal cavity.  You should be able to have that scar band lysed in the office and it should not recur if cut appropriately.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, that area appears to be a scar tissue adhesion. This could be removed as part of a revision. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
