I would love to be able to answer your question, but there too many variables. If you are planning on having surgery or if you have already had it, discuss with your current of prospective Surgeon. Weight loss disproportionately affects facial fat, so bear this in mind. During a deep neck lift, subplatysmal fat, digastric muscle, and sometimes submandibular glands are removed.
If a necklift is done before a lot of weight is lost, the skin can start to hang a bit. It's best to lose the weight before the surgery. But if significant excess skin is created, additional procedures can be done. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.
For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. To some degree, this depends on the characteristics of your skin and the degree of sun damage which affects the elasticity of the skin.If you are a regular user of sun screen and your overall skin elasticity for the neck is reasonably good, weight loss after deep plane neck lift may just make the appearance of the neck better. If the weight loss is more substantial, in the area of 5-10 kg or more, it can be associated also with volume loss in the face which leads to laxity along the jawline and inevitably negatively affects the appearance of the neck.
properly performed neck lift would allow you any kind of sport activity after healing time has passed; it should not be affected with moderate weight loss. This is best to be discussed with your surgeon ahead of surgery. Good luck.
If you have a deep plane neck lift the muscle layer of the neck is tightened along with the skin. The muscle tightening will not be affected by weight loss as there is not a lot of fat below the muscle. Skin can loosen if there is subcutaneous fat (fat between the skin and muscle) that reduces after weight loss.
Thank you for your question and photographs The main problem in your case appears to be related to platysma bands. I would suggest as a first line of treatment to reduce the tension in the platysma muscles since skin tightening is not likely to be adequate to control their shape. Botulinum...
As Bell's Palsy is related to a viral infection, it could always recur in the future. However, having had it shouldn't necessarily prohibit having a necklift. Based on my experience, the performance of a neckift shouldn't raise the risk of recurrence. However, I would check with a neurologist...
