Fibrosis on thin skin following rhinoplasty. Best way to proceed? (Photos)

Hi, I have thin skin & before I had rhinoplasty, the doctors that I considered mentioned fibrosis was nearly impossible in my skin type. However about 2-3 weeks after the procedure, my nose appeared somewhat deformed. My doctor said it was fibrosis and began injecting steroids, I'm only writing to get 2nd opinion. I trust my surgeon but he's out of state. Are steroid injections enough, are there other ways to deal with fibrosis on thin skin? Thanks

Only one thing to do for now. And that’s waiting . Regardless of what the surgeon meant by the term fibrosis, your nose will change considerably over the next year. Right now it’s just time

Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos it is difficult to make proper evaluation since your surgery is too close. However, it seems like a surgical fault and you can get rid of this thing only with revision surgery. If you can provide photos with better lighting, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Hello you need make a straight your septum and solve breathing problems also correct the nostrils but after the surgery your nose will not be straight for 100 %

Dear Jess,
The fundamental flaw in this story is that fibrosis does NOT occur 2-3 weeks after rhinoplasty surgery.  By definition of the healing process and it's phases fibrosis could not, would not be present until at least 6 weeks after rhinoplasty.  Something is suspicious in the entire story and the injection of steroids has its own set of risks and complications.  Finally, the full final results of a rhinoplasty are usually not critically evaluated until 1 year after the surgery.  You might seek an in person second opinion with an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!
