Hi, I’m 24 and I’ve been struggling with the lowe part of my face as I believe that my jaw is too big. What procedures are typically done to address that? I’m currently wearing braces to improve the alognment of my teeth.

When you are not smiling your facial balance looks good. Facial changes when animating are difficult to change. In your case, some minor changes can be made to both the vertical height and horizontal projection with chin shaving. A Ct would be helpful to determine your vertical chin height.

There is a procedure to reduce the jaw.  This is something we do every week at my office.  Through the inside of the mouth the jawbone can be seen and then the areas that are too full are reduced. There are no scars outside of the mouth (nothing on the skin).  The procedure takes about an hour. Watch our videos to learn more.
