Neck lift/double chin again? (Photo)

Question

I am 49 years old weighing 161 pounds my height is 5”6. In January of 2022 I had a neck lift. In the begging it looked good however, recently I noticed that my neck is starting to look similar to the way it was before. I also have a double chin again. What is your opinion from the pictures and what can I do?

After a neck lift procedure, it is not uncommon for the initial results to change over time. The natural aging process, weight fluctuations, and other factors can contribute to the recurrence of certain cosmetic concerns, such as a double chin.

A revision neck lift procedure may be considered. This would involve a surgical intervention to correct and enhance the appearance of your neck.

"For a double chin, InMode FaceTite with VASERlipo would give you the best result.

With significant neck sagging you would need a facelift / neck lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). At the same time, I would recommend lasers (Fraxel, CO2, Halo, or Erbium) and microneedling RF (Fractora, Morpheus8, PiXel8, Intensif) to improve the crepey skin and wrinkles. Overall, the neck can be treated with a combination approach:

It appears that deep fat compartment, underneath platysma and digastric muscles, possibly larger salivary glands, are reason for current double chin. Removal of deep fat and submandibular glands is not part of every face/neck lift and, in cases like yours, may require redo. It is very likely that face/neck lift with removal of deep fat in the neck, would be good procedure for you. Hope this helps.

From the limited photographs, you have multiple issues going on. These include excess skin in your neck, fat deposits both above and below the platysma muscle in your neck, and a recessive Chin. To address all these issues at age 49, it's going to require a lower face and neck lift which accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, along with removing both compartments of fat in the neck which includes a platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline. Consider placement of a chin implant at the same time to give better structural support for the soft tissues in your neck.
