18 male, I live a pretty healthy lifestyle yet I have deep nasolabial folds. I have also been using retinol but it did not any noticeable effects on my folds. I’m wondering what my options are, if any.
Answer: Not every nasolabial fold requires treatment. It is normal for there to be a transition zone between someone's oily cheek skin and non-oily upper lip skin. We do not recommend treating these folds until they have deepened and become Signs of Aging. it may be best for you to leave your Congenital nasolabial folds alone. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Dermal filler Hi @Generous799570. Retinol is a great place to begin. In addition, you can add a soft dermal filler like Restylane Refyne directly into the nasolabial folds. Best of luck, Dr. Nima

Answer: What can I do about deep nasolabial folds? Thank you for your question and photos. It is a little hard to say without at physical exam. It looks like you are a bit deep in the nasolabial fold area, (NLF). This can occur for a few reasons. Most people have NLF that you can see. Sometimes they appear early. Directly injecting the NLF area is the most common approach. There are a variety of materials that can be placed there. Please visit an experienced, well trained injector. They will give you a good evaluation and see if you are an appropriate candidate. Jeffrey J. Roth, M.D.,F.A.C.S. Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Las Vegas Plastic Surgery

Answer: NLF These are not particularly deep nasolabial folds, ,although I do understand that you might be also interested in prevention. I would continue good skincare to make sure that the lines do not set in but based on these photos, it looks like your maxilla/midface might be a little recessed. Filler ccan help with that. Good luck!

Answer: Dermal Fillers Along the Nasolabial Fold When attempting to lessen the appearance of nasolabial folds dermal fillers are a powerful tool. By injecting filler strategically either in the cheeks, along the piriform aperture (bony area around the nose), directly within the folds, or a combination of all these locations significant improvement can be obtained. Ultimately where to inject depends on the overall shape of your face and your aesthetic goals. You should discuss your care with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who should be able to provide more information. Thank you for your question.

Answer: Nasolabial folds Fillers are a great option to soften the appearance of nasolabial folds. The treatment is done in the office with some of the results seen right away. The treatment effects last approximately a year and will fade gradually. See an experienced injector near you to learn more.
