Super congested 7 days post op... should I be worried?

Patients with questions and concerns about possible sinus infection during the early post-operative period after breast augmentation with implants should contact either their plastic surgeon or primary care physician ( PCP).  Any infection shortly after a breast augmentation should be controlled rapidly to avoid any possible infection of the breast implants.

Thank you for your inquiry.It sounds as if everything with you surgery went well and you are not having issues with the healing process at this time.    Your sinus issues are independent of the surgery.   I would recommend letting your plastic surgeon know you are having the congestion just so they are aware.  Otherwise, I would continue to follow their post-op protocol. I would recommend seeing your PCP for evaluation of your sinus issues.  They may want to start another antibiotic that would have better penetration to the sinus cavities for coverage.  Good luck.

Your sinus treatment should not affect your beast augmentation surgery.Keep up with the recommended treatment and you should be OK.
