7 months ago I did a chin liposuction with the lipolaser. I am dissatisfied and worry that I am maime went back to the doctor who indicates that it takes me longer for all irregularities to disappear up to a year and must continue to take massages
Answer: Recommend doing Morpheus8 and fillers to help reduce appearance of the irregularities. A non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Liposuction results In order to make a quality assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have proper before and after pictures then ask your surgeon to forward the ones they’ve taken. Liposuction results are final by three months and waiting further is not going to improve your outcome. Massage does not change liposuction results. Liposuction results are a direct reflection of an individual persons candidacy for the procedure combined with the skill and experience of the surgeon. Those are the only two variables that matter. You don’t look like you have a lot of subcutaneous fat and I question why you chose to have Liposuction? Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe and this includes a substantial number of plastic surgeons. Being board-certified and plastic surgery with an overall good reputation is insufficient to guarantee that someone has mastered Liposuction. Liposuction results are permanent and irreversible. Patients should be extremely thorough when vetting plastic surgeons for this procedure. There’s more variation in outcomes from Liposuction than any other plastic surgical procedure I’ve ever seen. Correcting poorly done liposuction work is very difficult and revision or secondary liposuction is far more difficult than doing primary liposuction. For that reason you probably should think twice about having revision work done especially with your current provider. While your results do not indicate a perfect outcome they also are not the worst I’ve seen. Without having a comparison to see what your before and after pictures look like we have no way of seeing what was done. Consider re-posting with proper before and after pictures. If you want to have a proper second opinion consultation then schedule those as in person consultations for the other local board-certified plastic surgeons. For second opinion consultations patient should come prepared to bringing with them a copy of your operative report and all before and after pictures. These are all part of your medical record and are available to you upon request if you contact your current surgeons office. As I mentioned earlier, correcting poorly done Liposuction results is difficult and should only be done by someone with a proven track record. To find it the right provider I suggest patients choose plastic surgeons by doing the following. Start the process by scheduling multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons whenever possible. If at all possible avoid virtual consultations. During each consultation ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures. Being shown a handful of sample pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of an average results look like or how many of these procedures a surgeon has performed. Surgeons may be apprehensive to show all of their before and after pictures but patients should be persistent and request to see as many pictures as possible. Bring with you proper pictures of yourself for comparison. Ask the surgeon to find as many examples as possible of patients who had similar facial or body characteristics to your own. Ask the surgeon to show examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and less than outcomes. we all have them and it’s fair game for patients to ask to see them. An experienced surgeon should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures for commonly performed procedures. Highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or even thousands of before and after pictures for any one single common procedure. Become familiarized with quality before and after pictures by reviewing lots of pictures online before consultations and have a rating or grading system in place to rate each plastic surgeons results during the consultation. Ask the surgeon specifically about their revision rate and make sure you have a clear understanding of what the revision policies are. Continue having consultations comparing results, experience, transparency and honesty between providers. Finally I recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and far more telling then having an abundance of positive reviews. When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations. During consultations make sure you have a clear understanding of your own candidacy for the procedure. You need to have a clear understanding of what this procedure can and cannot do based on your individual candidacy. Just because one person gets an exceptional outcome does not mean that everybody has the same potential. Ones done liposuction results are difficult to alter. It is very much a permanent and more or less irreversible procedure. Find the right plastic surgeon and everything falls into place. At this point I suggest you slow down the process and avoid the temptation of jumping in to having secondary procedures without thorough forethought. Revision liposuction can very easily make things worse. This is especially true when the first procedure was done aggressively or too much fat was removed. I wish I could be optimistic but after the fact there are only limited things that are useful. Non-surgical secondary treatments will not change the outcome. This includes massage, radio frequency treatment, shock treatment etc. etc. Your surgeon is simply kicking the can down the road by telling you that it takes more time to get your final results. Patients typically see something resembling final results by about six weeks and by three months results will not change by waiting further. The exception to this is a very small skin incisions made for liposuction. Skin scars can require 12 to 18 months before they are final. The face tends to be very forgiving and skin incisions are usually not an issue after chin and neck liposuction. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
