40 years old male with initial rhinoplasty done 9 years ago. Do not like how the tip of the nose looks like. The tip is round with no definition. I do have a thick skin and thus, not sure if revision rhinoplasty will help. Please suggest if improvement can be made

Answer: Is revision rhinoplasty an option? Thank you Stan for your question. One other view that would be very helpful in terms of assessing the nasal tip is a worm's eye view looking at the tip from below. In looking at the pictures you send you had a very nice result from your previous rhinoplasty but according to you you are unhappy with the tip. Certainly a tip revision could be performed possibly adding a small shield cartilage graft to accentuate the tip and this might be 1 of the easiest ways to go to give better definition. Certainly without feeling the tip and actually assessing the nose in person it is difficult to say but this is something that is not uncommon and revision occurs in about 10% of patients Nationwide after a rhinoplasty. Speak to several doctors in year area including original surgeon if he is still available. Good luck in your decision, Dr. Steven Schuster in Boca Raton Florida.
