I'm having a kenalog injection to reduce the size of my nose tip. Will there be side effects? (Photo)

Kenalog (Steroid injections) are not indicated to reduce the size of the nose. There are side effects including thinning of the skin, hypopigmentation, telangiectasias ("broken blood vessels"), possible weakening of the cartilages, and other problems. It is occasionally used AFTER surgery for edema or scar management.

We may use dilute triamcinolone acetonide (Kenalog) injections for stubborn swelling above the tip after rhinoplasty surgery. I am not aware of the indication or advisability of Kenalog injections for reducing nasal-tip size, without a history of prior nasal surgery.Hope this helps you.Dr. Joseph

Kenalog as a primary way to reduce the volume of your nasal tip is not only a bad idea, it's a terrible idea.  Kenalog can be used after a Rhinoplasty to minimize swelling or reduce scar tissue. Steroid injections will lead to atrophy of normal, healthy nasal tissue and is not likely to produce the type of changes that you will be happy with.

I think the other doctors
that have commented thus far are 100% correct. There is no reason or indication
for someone to suggest that you should have Kenalog injections into the tip of
your nose to reduce the size of your nose. If you are considering this, please
reconsider. Consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to
give you all of your options, and chose which one is best for you carefully.

Kenalog injections are not used to reduce a cartilaginous bulbous tip. After the rhinoplasty procedure, Kenalog injections can be used to reduce swelling, edema, and scar tissue formation in the supratip  area of the nose. Kenalog injections are only placed after the surgery, not before. To reduce the bulbous nasal tip requires suture techniques applied to the lower lateral cartilages of the nasal tip. Digital computer imaging would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with your nose upon your patient  features.
