I will be getting my bbl done next year hopefully, and I want to know why some surgeons only perform the procedure while the patient is awake or want to put the patient to sleep. I need to know this when deciding who I want to go to. What is the best choice and will be better for the result? Will I be able to decide myself if I want to be put to sleep for my Brazilian Butt Lift, or if I want to be awake? I'm 18 years old. 5'1, normal weight, healthy and don't take any medicine. Would appreciate answers!

Answer: Anesthesia for BBL There are 3 types of anesthesia used for a BBL, General, Peridural and local. I don't even know why someone would do a BBL with Local Anesthesia, maybe to save some money at patients pain and risks spends, that leaves two options, general anesthesia where you will be completely sleep and on complete control of the anesthesiologist and peridural anesthesia that can be combined with a mild sedation so you sleep on the surgery and skip the stress of being in a surgery room, or without sedation on which you will be completely awake and only wont be able to feel.my anesthesiologist prefer General anesthesia and i trust them to be the best choice, as today technology has made all kind of anesthesia as safely as possible. if you really wish to be awake at the time of your surgery, this is possible, be shure to find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and ask if he/she agrees with your decision.
