Hello, I am a healthy, happy, attractive , 32yr plus size woman who loves being plus size just wish I had a flatter stomach. I am currently 314lbs and most of my weight is in my stomach . I am looking to drop maybe 50 to 75pounds but would like to get the apron removed as it is in the way of Like working out. I don't want to have weight loss surgery because as I stated I am very happy being plus size plus. My pannus hangs a little below my private area and rubs against my legs which is annoying.

Answer: Apron removal (Panniculectomy) A panniculectomy is a very reasonable procedure to undergo while on your weight loss journey. At a certain point, it can interfere with fitness activities. As with any cosmetic procedure, it is tailored to where you are at the time of the surgery. Occasionally, insurance MIGHT cover the cost, but it is best to be prepared to cover the cost yourself. Depending on your overall condition, the procedure might be performed as an outpatient, but the ability to stay overnight with nursing care is desirable. In my practice, you would have drains for about a week, and need to wear a binder or compression for 4 weeks. Good luck on your journey!

Answer: Gastric bypass first You are best served to lose the weight first then have the apron removed. You probably need to have a gastric bypass by a bariatric surgeon . Good luck.
