A 300 cc implant should be able to achieve an appreciatively enlarged breast, but the volume of a breast is just one of many factors when planning a breast augmentation surgery to achieve a patient’s desired post operative results. Do not get hung up on breast implant volume because your friend got such and such a cc breast implant, or you saw somebody online with a before and after picture with the 300cc implants and you liked what you saw.The volume of an implant chosen for breast augmentation surgery, as well as the profile of implant implant is all predicated upon each individual patients breast shape, size, and soft tissue characteristics (soft tissue characteristics means how much breast tissue a patient has, does the breast sag, is there stretched excess skin, is the skin very tight, how much does the skin “give” or stretch when pulled out from the chest wall, is the breast tissue very soft or very firm in glandular, how wide is the distance between the breasts, is the rib cage and breast bone normal, are the breasts of equal size, shape.....etc).All of these parameters must be carefully weighed by the surgeon in making a decision of not only what volume of an implant to use, but also what implant profile will provide the best result and perhaps even whether to place the implant above or below the muscle. There is so much more to properly performed breast augmentation surgery than making a pocket and placing an implant. “You could train a monkey to do that” we are fond of saying. With that being said, you have stated what appears to be realistic goals for your self given a starting point of an A cup and desiring a realistic augmentation to a small C. Many patients with small, tight skin A sized breasts want a “large D” post operatively. This thinking is a disaster waiting to happen . Plenty of surgeons will accommodate a patient’s desire for an implant which by all the above parameters is simply too large, and the patient later develops known long term complications of breast augmentation surgery. Some of these complications are extremely difficult to fix, and requires a lot more surgery and even more surgical incision scarring. An in person, “hands on” consultation and examination with a board certified plastic surgeon is the best way to help you safely & effectively achieve your post operative goals. You need to discuss what you would like to achieve , and your surgeon should carefully listen to you and help you understand why, (or why not ) your goals are realistic and safe. By safe I mean there will be minimal risks of a multitude of complications which can occur long term when too large of implants are used at the initial operation. All the salient risks of breast augmentation surgery must be understood by the patient prior to embarking on such an important endeavor as this type of surgery. Pictures alone can not provide all the necessary information which the surgeon requires to make a decision for implant volume, profile, width etc. Perform your due diligence in choosing your surgeon and the facility where the surgery will be performed is extremely important. You should feel very comfortable with what was explained to you in your consultation , and have time to digest it all and ask more questions if necessary. Meeting your surgeon & being examined for the first time by the surgeon the morning of your surgery is a recipe for potential disaster. Best wishes and good luck
