Can my columella be fixed? (photo)

Hello ,I had open rhinoplasty 9 month ago now my columella looks like it’s pushed down and this gives my nose a rotated appearance in frontal view,my surgeon told my that he can fix this under local anesthesia,I’m too anxious that if that works and will not distort my nose ??!

It is a simple procedure to pull back the nasolabial angle and the columella under local anesthesia. As long it is done conservatively it will work well. The recovery should be quick. RegardsDr. J

Your columella may appear pushed down due to an elongated nasal septum, or if your surgeon placed a 'septal extension graft'. If your issue requires septal shortening, this may be a relatively easy fix. If you have concerns, get an opinion from another rhinoplasty specialist. Thank you. Dr Joseph
