The asymmetry has been increasing over the years and is now quite noticeable and bugs me. Tried injections ("non surgical nose job"), didn't do much. Is there any way to pull the drooping side up or the high side down or a combo? What % improvement could I expect? Is it possible to correct without creating an external scar?
Answer: Your asymmetric nostrils are from a crooked tip. the nostrils are actually symmetric The way I determine and demonstrate that nostrils are actually symmetric and its due to a tilted nose is by moving the tip over with computer imaging. In the majority of cases, the nostrils then appear symmetric. Alarplasty will not help this condition. Revision rhinoplasty to straighten the nose is what is necessary to rectify your issue. You should see an expert in revision rhinoplasty to discuss potential treatment.

Answer: Can my nostril asymmetry be easily corrected? Raising the lower nostril with an incision just inside the alar rim is straightforward and a minor office procedure. However in your case it looks like the columella is slightly crooked and a formal revision rhinoplasty might be necessary to reposition the cartilages. An in person consultation with an experienced revision rhinoplasty would be necessary.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine your candidacy for a revision. Rhinoplasty can certainly address the size and evenness of your nostrils to create a symmetric and proportional appearance. Best wishes,

Answer: Nostril asymmetry Nostril asymmetry can be fixed (based on bottom view); as it seems that your left medial foot plate is more generous than the right side; this can be tucked in; unfortunately, I cannot tell whether your tip is straight or deviated as well; what you need is a frontal view that shows your entire nose. If your problem is only nostril shape, this can be fixed using cadaveric cartilage grafts.

Answer: Can Nostril Asymmetry be Fixed? Dear flamingocactus, I would suggest that you seek consultations with some experts in the field of rhinoplasty surgery. Your asymmetry may be related to a deviated septum and your nasal tip cartilages. Once an examination is performed a proper diagnosis can be made and a surgical plan can be put into place. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
