Is my skin too tight for a BBL? (Photo)

Question

My biggest concern is fat survival in a BBL. my skin is pretty tight around my thighs and butt (photo of me pinching has been inserted) . Will I be turned away from surgery because of this ? I would really like to have rounder hips and fuller butt.

Hello, thank you for your question. A physical examination is required to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure. Ideal candidates for liposuction are at or near their ideal weight and have good skin elasticity. Lipo is intended to remove stubborn pockets of fat that don’t respond to regular exercise, as the skin does need to be able to smooth back into place after the procedure is complete.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
Based on your pictures, you are a great candidate for liposuction with BBL, and I think you'll get very good results. 
Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You can improve your abdomen, back and flanks, and of course your buttock, to give you a nice heart shape.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 33 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

I’m not sure where you came up with this concept the tight skin prevents you from getting a BBL.

Your skin has plenty of elasticity. Just think of all the range of motion you have and every joint in your body. The skin can tolerate quite a bit of stretch.

I’ve never heard of a patient who had limited fat transfer results because of tight skin.

It is true to some degree that does with skin laxity sometimes tolerate very large volumes of fat transfer somewhat easier.

While having tight skin does not impede fat transfer skin laxity does however make people far less suitable candidates for both Liposuction and fat transfer.

In fact, skin laxity is the number one variable that makes people not have a great results from both Liposuction and fat transfer.

There are numerous variables to take into consideration in regards to making an assessment in regards to the candidacy for this procedure. I suggest focusing on in person consultations at which point skilled and experienced plastic surgeon Should be able to help review the different variables and help give you an assessment to predict the type of results you can expect.

To get the best results I suggest the following.

Avoid traveling long-distance is for elective surgical procedures.

Rely on in person consultations.

Schedule multiple consultations with surgeons in your area who have a good reputation for the procedure you’re interested in.

During the in person consultation to ask each surgeon to show all of their before and after pictures of the procedure you’re interested in. The goal is not to see the best results of their career but to see what average results look like and get confirmation of how many of these procedures that surgeon has performed.   Ideally the surgeon should be able to find before and after pictures of patients who are very similar body shapes and contours to your own.

And experienced plastic surgeon should have an abundance of before and after pictures. A highly  experienced plastic surgeon will have several hundred or even thousands of before and after pictures for each procedure.

Read all the reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews.

Organic  unmanipulated reviews tend to follow fairly equally among different review websites.  Those with an excessive number of positive reviews on a single website may be a telling sign of aggressive marketing.

The presence of justified negative reviews can be more important than an abundance of positive reviews.

Don’t schedule surgery during the consultation.

Give yourself time to think about important decisions like permanently and irreversibly changing your body.

When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations.

The outcomes of this procedure are all over the place based exclusively on the skill and experience of the surgeon.
