I am 26 and already have nasolabial folds that make me look tired and older. I am wondering if HA in the folds would help, and if they would look natural, or if it is just the shape of my face that is wrong. I did loose and gain a lot of weight as a teen so I am guess my skin isn't firm anymore. What are the options? Am I too young for injections?
Answer: Fillers for marionette lines Your age is not a contra-indication to consider fillers. Hyaluronic Acid fillers are relatively safe, effective, and not permanent. In the right hands, you will see an improvement that is natural looking. If you like the results, you can continue to have HA injections, or consider longer lasting fillers or fat grafting in the future. Best wishes!

Answer: 26 Not Too Young For Appropriate Filler Treatments First, let me say that 26 is not too young for treatment with natural, hyaluronic acid fillers, if appropriate. I started my daughters-in-law at earlier ages when it was necessary. The more appropriate question is which areas to treat. It's been well over fifteen years since experienced injectors have stopped "chasing after lines and wrinkles" with fillers. Instead, owing to a more advanced understanding of the aging process, we shape and contour the face to take care of the problems that give rise to smile lines and marionetee lines. Recontouring the cheeks with an an appropriate volumizing filler, without directly injecting into the smile lines or the marionette lines, typically gives rise to a more natural appearing improvement in the cheeks directly and in the smile and marionette lines secondarily (often without the need to directly inject these locations). Voluma XC would be my go-to for this in my NY practice and Stylage XX my choice in my Israel staellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved volumizing fillers are available. Photos are no substitute for an in-person examination that allows for palpation and manipulation of the skin. You would be wise to consult a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise and be certain to ask to see his/her personal before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Fillers in the lower face From your photos, it appears that you would be a good candidate for fillers. They could be used to build volume in the lower face, softening shadows and improving highlights. You can certainly do this and maintain a natural look. If you wanted the nasolabial folds filled I would do it conservatively, because if filled too much it will look unnatural. I recommend seeing a facial plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss your concerns.

Answer: Marionette lines Thank you for your question. Marionette lines are a sign of ageing. Fortunately they can be softened and even removed with a Hyaluronic acid filler. Restylane Refyne or Defyne are good options to give you a natural result. See an expert injector. Be well.

Answer: Improving Nasolabial Folds - Lasers like Fraxel/Clear + Brilliant, RF like VIVA, Peels, Fillers, Skin Care, Face Lift, Fat I recommend fillers for the lines themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
