Dear jcad1979,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question and photos. It can vary from one patient to the next. I advise my patients to wait at least three to six months depending upon the quality of tissues, size of implants, and volume of breast tissue. Good luck.
Your stretched skin will probably not tighten much on its own. However, radiofrequency treatments like ThermiTight can be helpful. Please discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon.
Thank you for your post and photos. You are still very early in the healing and recovery phase so there will be some tightening/settling and healing to go for the next few months minimum. Be sure to follow-up with your PS for future exams and check-ups.Sincerely,Dr. Benjamin J. Cousins MD Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Miami/Miami Beach, FL
It is difficult to determine how much your skin will continue to tighten. Final results from this procedure are generally not seen for at least 3 months, so it is possible that changes will continue to occur. I recommend speaking with your surgeon about your recovery and what you can expect in terms of result. Much of your result will have to do with the quality of your skin which is best determined with an in person examination.
Hello and thank you for your question and photo's. It is still too early in post op period to know if your skin will tighten up, everyone's skin elasticity varies, which is dependant on age, pregnancies, drastic weight gain and loss, etc. You will know around 3 months .
You might need a revision lift, but I would give it several more months to heal first to see how they settle. Many will do it just like this. Remove the implants, and then come back once the tissues have softened and implant pocket has collapsed.
I actually do these cases very frequently and in patients who had previous lifts I recommend they undergo a lift at the time of explant to help improve the skin laxity. I would wait about 2-3 months till the swelling has completely resolved. At that point a consult regarding a lift would make sense.
The cost of removing your saline implants will depend on a couple of factors. If you are choosing just to explant and not replace your current saline implants with another set, that time in the OR should take between 1 to 2 hours, costing on average $3500 to $5500 at our practice. However, if...
It is possible to remove implants through an umbilical incision, but it is not typical. You may want to visit with the surgeon who placed your implants to talk about your wishes. Implants that are removed via an imframmary fold incision typically heal very well. The incision can sometimes be...
If you have an infection associated with your implant that is not improving on antibiotics, then usually implant removal without replacement is required. Because it can take 6 months for it to be safe to be replaced, many women opt to remove the unaffected one so that they have relative symmetry...
