hello melsgirls Since cost varies according to the plastic surgeon performing the procedure, i would advice you either visit or call your plastic surgeon about this concern. #cost #explant
Sometimes saline implants can be removed under local anesthesia without performing any capsule removal or lift. RealSelf reports "The typical cost for Breast Implant Removal near Dallas, Texas ranges from $2,675 - $8,750 with an average cost of $6,175 near Dallas and an average of $4,450 from all locations. Costs vary by surgeon, geographic region, and the complexity of the procedure."Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
The cost of removing your saline implants will depend on a couple of factors. If you are choosing just to explant and not replace your current saline implants with another set, that time in the OR should take between 1 to 2 hours, costing on average $3500 to $5500 at our practice. However, if you decide to replace your implants with another set, or have a mastopexy (breast lift) along with your explant, the cost can range between $8000 to $9500.00.
Thank you for your question and post. Be sure to find an experienced ASPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can examine you and take the time to answer any and all questions you may have. Look for the ASPS Board Certified symbol of excellence when researching potential PSs. The cost will vary depending on geography and fees for the facility, anesthesia and surgeon, but generally runs around $4500 on average. With an in-person exam, a discussion can be had about the need for a lift immediately after the implants are removed or later after the tissues have settle and retracted. Sincerely, Dr. Benjamin J. Thank you for the question. When it comes to costs of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider… are some of the potential variables involved. You will find some average costs of surgery on this website and on individual plastic surgeons' websites as well.In regards to outcome of the planned procedure, more important than costs of the procedures will be careful selection of your plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. ***Ask to SEE lots of examples of their work AND preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.Be very careful with your decision-making. You will find, while doing your due diligence, that there are many different “specialties” who will offer their services to you; again, I strongly recommend you concentrate on surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I would also suggest that you do not base your selection of plastic surgeon primarily on costs of surgery; keep in mind that further revisionary surgery may be more costly in many ways. Best wishes.
The cost will vary based on the surgeon and the extent of the surgery. I recommend visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to determine if just the implants can be removed or if the capsules need to come out too. If the capsules should be removed the surgery is more complex and costs more. It is recommended that the capsules be removed if they are thickened or causing problems.
It is possible to remove implants through an umbilical incision, but it is not typical. You may want to visit with the surgeon who placed your implants to talk about your wishes. Implants that are removed via an imframmary fold incision typically heal very well. The incision can sometimes be...
If you have an infection associated with your implant that is not improving on antibiotics, then usually implant removal without replacement is required. Because it can take 6 months for it to be safe to be replaced, many women opt to remove the unaffected one so that they have relative symmetry...
The pains that you are reporting may just be nerves firing during the healing process. They should subside and become less frequent as healing progresses. If they do not contact your surgeon for an evaluation.
