Thank you for your question. You can have a second BBL in 6-7 months after the first one, especially if moderate amount of fat has been put in. It is better to have less amount of fat injected in a single sitting, and have the procedure repeated, rather than having large amounts of fat put in a single sitting. This makes the procedure safer and more of the fat can survive. Please discuss this with your surgeon or another experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can help you. All The Best !
Much of it depends on your reason for going for round two. If you had relatively scamper poor results from the first procedure and you’re likely to have similar results from round two. Also, at only 4-5 months post BBL the fat can still be settling in and/or melting away so you have not yet seen the final result. that all being said, BBL is the most deadly cosmetic surgical procedure performed nowadays. Hope this helps
Thank you for your question! You can have a second procedure done 6-8 months after the first bbl. Best of luck!Dr Dhaval PatelDouble Board CertfiedPlastic SurgeonChicagoHoffman Estates Oakbrook Orland Park
Having the BBL done a second time is an option as long as the patient has enough fat to be transferred. The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon. The percentage of fat survival in the second BBL should be about the same as the first. The volume loss occurs over the first 6 weeks or so. After that period of time the volume remains stable assuming weight is maintained. Wait six months to a year to evaluate results before scheduling a BBL revision. Your best answer will come from the PS who performed your first BBL.
Dear typeAchiq,Most plastic surgeons will recommend you to wait until you are fully healed. You should wait at least 6 months in order to get a revision surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I usually wait six months for the blood supply to mature prior to doing the second BBL procedure. It is just safer.Dr T
The more important question is why the 1st BBL did not get you the results you were hoping for. This is typically a problem with technique and so I don't advise you redo your BBL with the same technique. Please consider posting your before and after so that you can get more accurate advise on what to do. In general, you should wait at least six months prior to undergoing a revision.
I generally Ask people to wait six months before we operating after liposuction and fat transfer procedures. This allows scar tissue to mature making the procedures technically easier. Some providers feel comfortable operating sooner. As long as it’s not within the first couple of months you should be fine. It’s important to recognize you need to be assessed for a second procedure because your body is different than I was before the first one.As a general statement previous areas treated with liposuction have less potential improvement. Areas treated with fat transfer often have lots of room for improvement with a second procedure.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
I see no reason why you can’t have a full tummy tuck and a revision of your BBL.I think you should have revision work from where you had liposuction as well. For example the upper abdomen as a transitions onto your ribs wasn’t treated sufficiently and that fat thickness doesn’t match your abdom...
This is a function of technique and healing. These areas can be surgically excised. Contour irregularities can then be fat grafted. Discuss a revision with your double board certified PS.
I don’t think you’re going to find that adding fat is going to correct your dents. These are a form of cellulite and I caused by connective tissue bands that don’t stretch. They anchor the skin to the underlying muscle fascia. As volume is added they pull on the skin causing indenta...
