Answer: Some fat is not in the container When doing Smartlipo some of the fat is liquified and oozes out through the incision during the procedure as an oil. Thus the amount of fat seen in the canister is less than the actual amount of fat treated. You are correct that this canister shows bloody tumescent fluid in addition to fat so certainly there is not 100cc of fat in the container but that doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't more taken out. I don't know the details of your procedure, what kind of laser was used and at what settings so it is impossible to really give a comment but I would go back to your surgeon and discuss everything in detail. Good luck!

Answer: Swelling after laser liposuction Hi and welcome to our forum! Congratulations on your recent procedure...The procedure of liposuction is an "insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which will initially totally obscure the operative result. 100 cc of aspirate is a reasonable amount of fat to remove during submental liposuction. 60-80% of the swelling should subside within the first 8 weeks, with the remainder slowly subsiding over 6-12 months. Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon...you still have a way to go! Best wishes...
