Rounded eyes after lower blepharoplasty. Any suggestions?

In the early stage of healing from lower eyelid blepharoplasty rounds eyes are not of great concern.  You need to immediately start taping the lower eyelids in a way that you pushing them up and to the side.  Imagine as if you putting a brought underneath the lower eyelids and pulling it up tight.  This should reduce the rounding of the eyes immediately in also for the long run.  After the first 2 weeks you need to start massaging where he push the lower eyelid upwards.This stretches the lower eyelid and prevents the scar formation, they can pull the lower eyelids downwards causing the rounding of the eye or ectropion.  Even if round eyes to happen they can be corrected down the road.RegardsDr. J

At 8 days following surgery, you still likely have a significant amount of swelling involving your eyelids. A photo of your eyes would be helpful to assess the issue.With standard lower eyelid blepharoplasty techniques, no incision is required at the very corner of the eye. Without an incision in this area the corners should not become rounded. However, if a lid tightening procedure (canthoplasty) was performed, then an incision was placed in the corner. I suggest you follow up regularly with your surgeon for examinations to assess wound healing.In all likelihood the issue will improve as swelling subsides. Try not to become discouraged. Good luck! 

If you feel that the lower lid has been pulled down a bit this may be due to swelling. Sometimes massage upward and taping can help, but best to check with your surgeon.

Swelling at 8 days will normally cause this form of rounding of the lower lids. As the swelling goes down the lower lids should spring back into normal position. Time and waiting is the best policy but some additional therapies may help including taping, compression, and massaging. If it does not correct by 6 weeks then you may want to revisit your surgeon.
