Revision rhinoplasty, 5 months post op, how long should I wait before undergoing another revision? (photos)

After a primary rhinoplasty you need to wait twelve months to do anything but a minor revision such as filling down a residual bump, and that is because  it takes at least that long for all swelling and inflammation to completely resolve.  Operating before that time results in excess swelling and inflammation with unpredictable outcomes. In your case after two rhinoplastiies, the swelling takes even longer, and I would recommend waiting closer to 18 months. In the meantime hopefully some of the swelling will go  down and help the overall appearance.

It is certainly frustrating waiting a year or more but this is very important, especially for tertiary revision rhinoplasty. After the skin is elevated, inflammation sets in. Scar tissue builds up for up to 6 months then takes another 6 months to fully soften. IF you go back too soon, your surgeon will not be operating under ideal conditions. Also any subtle changes, especially in the tip will continue healing for a year or more. 

After any rhinoplasty, or revision rhinoplasty, it is usually best to wait at least 1 full year, as the nose will continually change.  Relay your concerns to your surgeon, and he or she will provide you with a reasonable timeline of events to expect certain results.  Be patient, and if at one year you are still unhappy, you may consider another revision.

I would give it at least a year and sometimes longer until all the swelling subsides. Good luck......
