Can lichen planopilaris in a biopsy be misdiagnosed with something else?

quincYee
I have diffuse hair loss following an accutane course around two years ago. My hair is curlier and thinner. Minoxidil helped thicken my hair but I stopped that a few in fear that it’s causing inflammation. I did a biopsy after a year and a half of stress and the diagnosis was subtle signs of lichen planopilaris. There was mild to focal perifollicular fibrosis, a single free hair shaft, and a mild focal lichenoid mononuclear cell infiltrate. hyperkeratosis and mild hypergranulosis too. I’m male, 26.
