Is this diffuse unpatterned alopecia and if yes can I do anything to stop it? (Photos)

When it comes to androgenetic alopecia we are all familiar with seeing it progress as either a receding hairline or temples or as a spot in the crown that expands outwards. What is harder to see in others is the pattern called "diffuse thinning". This is the pattern most commonly seen in women suffering from male/female pattern baldness (the other name for androgenetic alopecia), but is also very common for men.
One thing to be aware of is that because of its pattern it can often be misdiagnosed as telogen effluvium which can look similar in mild cases.
Really the only effective way to know for sure is to get an accurate diagnosis using blood tests.

It could be. A specialist really needs to examine the scalp and confirm the diffuse miniaturization and diffuse loss. One needs to make sure they are not missing a diffuse alopecia areata or an effluvium. If you and your doctors confirm DUPA, options inlcude topical finasteride, oral finasteride, laser, oral minoxidil, topical minoxidil and PRP. SMP is an option too. Surgery via hair transplant surgery would not be an option.

The quality of the photos is not the best. It does appear to be DUPA. Treatment would include medications, topical creams, PRP injections
