I am 31, roughly 150 lbs. I went from a 31 inch waist to a 28. Only 3 weeks post op I noticed from the side my stomach was very uneven. I was told that this was due to swelling. Now 8 months post op it has not improved. I’m extremely concerned. I went to reputable surgeon, he has done work on me in the part but not lipo.

Answer: Making an assessment on the outcome of plastic surgery procedures To make an accurate assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery operation requires having access to accurate before and after pictures. If you don’t have proper before and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the ones they took. Your surgeon is also the correct person to talk about the outcome of the procedure. Liposuction results are close to final by six weeks and will not change after three months. Delivering consistent quality, Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. The number of plastic surgeons with mastered this procedure is relatively few. Being bored, certified in plastic surgery with an overall good reputation and years of experience does not mean somebody has mastered Liposuctiona, likes doing Liposuction, or is even good at Liposuction. Most plastic surgeons think they’re better at Liposuction than they actually are. Mastering this procedure requires a total commitment to excellence, doing thousands of cases, and being critical of your own results. The number of plastic surgeons were truly excellent at Liposuction isn’t a small minority. Patient should be far more selective when it comes to choosing providers for Liposuction and they think necessary. I generally recommended patient start by having at least five in person consultations before scheduling surgery. Correcting poorly done, Liposuction is difficult and far more difficult than doing primary procedures. Revision work can be beneficial in some cases, especially if the first procedure was under performed. To find a ride provider, I suggest patients start by having multiple in person consultations. During each consultation, ask you to provide her to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body characteristics to your own. Look very carefully at all areas treated to make sure there are no skin contour, irregularities and results. Look like quality work. And experience provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Ask providers to point out exactly what areas for treated with Liposuction and what areas for not treated and look carefully at transition zones between treated an untreated areas. Personally, I view the Torso as a single anatomic Unit, and generally prefer to treat the entire tour so if I’m going to do a abdominal liposuction. By treating the entire Torso as a single anatomic units, patients are left without transition zones between treated and on treated areas. A full Torso includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, waist, full back, and under arms all the way to the side of the breast. Without seeing before, and after pictures, we can’t make an assessment on the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure. Your pictures are insufficient to make an assessment and we really need to see what you look like before the operation to understand what the impact of the procedure was. Ask your surgeon to forward proper before and after pictures and consider re-posting with better pictures. Alternatively, schedule a second opinion in person consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community. A plastic surgeon who fails to deliver quality results on the first attempt is unlikely to be able to make improvements with revision surgery. Considering that revision work is many times more difficult than primary liposuction patients seeking revision surgery should be even more selective than those seeking primary procedures.
