Do I need mons pubis liposuction with abdominal/flank/back liposuction? (photos)

Question

I recently had a consultation with a plastic surgeon about liposuction of my abdominal area. He also explained that doing flanks and back would help too. He said he would do the stomach area as well "for free" but when given the consultation there was lipo for the mons pubis area as well. I have never had a problem with my mons pubis area. I was wondering if I need it as well, well

Liposuction of the pubic area can be performed alone or in conjunction with other areas. Liposuction of the mons pubis is very effective for removing fat and flattening that area. Liposuction is never a treatment for skin laxity.

you really need liposuction with tummy tuck to be fully flat, however, j plasma maybe able to help but you will still have some loose skin.

my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring).

the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after).

You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best.  Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring.  Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods.  The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring.  This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face.  Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra.  If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty).  Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting.  Dr. Emer.

Your photos do not show the pubic area, so I would suggest discussing this with your surgeon who has seen that area.

It is difficult to assess whether you would benefit from liposuction of the mons area as the photo do not show the mons pubis. However, many patients have lipo in that area when they are also having the tummy done. After you have lipo of the abdomen, then the mons pubis may appear larger because the abdomen will be smaller. Please follow up with your PS to gain a better understanding.

It is difficult to say from these pictures but liposuction of the abdomen often include liposuction of the mons pubis as well. Liposuction of the abdomen without doing the same to the mons pubis may result in it looking larger in comparison to the rest of the body. The best person to talk to about this would be your plastic surgeon and he will be able to explain why he did this specifically

Lipisuction of the mons pubis it’s a fairly common procedure done often in conjunction with abdominal liposuction and sometimes as a single procedure by itself.

With liposuction of the lower abdomen the adjacent areas will look larger and it always makes sense to consider adjacent areas and consider including them just like your doctor explained with the added areas he recommended.

You didn’t include any pictures to assess your mons pubis but it’s not uncommon for that area to have some extra fat that I would say many if not most women would prefer to be a little flatter. Often women complain of fullness in their private areas when wearing wearing tight pants.

Some plastic surgeons include the Monse pubis as part of the abdomen and others charge for it as a separate area. Either approach is appropriate and it’s up to each plastic surgeon how they run their practice and charge for their procedures.
The correct person to talk about this is your plastic surgeon.
