Hello. I'm 44 and unhappy with the sagging skin and extra fat around my neck. I am not going to have a facelift yet for several reasons. I know many doctors do not like to do a neck lift for aging without a facelift. But that is the approach I would like to take. Am I making a big mistake?
Answer: Neck lift It is impossible to give you good advise based on this photo. Only on the basis of in person evaluation it would be possible to say whether neck lift only or lower face/neck lift would be better solution for you. Good luck.

Answer: Micro neck lift + Deep Neck Liposuction Although further assessment is needed, possible procedures to consider would be a micro neck lift and a deep neck liposuction. The micro neck lift would address the extra sagging skin on the neck and allow for a youthful rejuvenated look. The deep neck liposuction would address the excess fat underneath the muscle and lessen the heavy appearance of the neck. The best part is that you will be able to enjoy this refreshed look for many years to come as we typically expect the results to last 8-10 years. I think that it is important for you to discuss your concerns as well as your expectations during your consultation such that your surgeon informs you of optimal and achievable results. Overall, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with a board certified facial plastic surgeons to discuss your ideal outcome. This way, they can assess your goals in person and determine the best treatment for you. Best of luck! Kian Karimi MD, FACS

Answer: Necklift... From the photo, you are a good candidate for a necklift. A necklift can improve the underlying structures of the neck and allow the neck to lie flatter. You may need additional procedures on the skin afterwards like Fraxel and/or Ultherapy to further tighten in. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.

Answer: Options for Sagging Skin and Extra Fat in 44 YO It is certainly possible to perform an isolated necklift to tighten neck skin and muscles, as well as remove any extra fat. The only reason to add the cheek and upper facelift to the mix is if there is noticeable loose skin there. Based on your photo, I think the necklift should help smooth and firm your neck.

Answer: Skin Tightening for the Neck -- Kybella, Ultherapy, PDO NovaThreads, Thermage vs VASER Lipo w/ ThermiRF, Neck Lift A combination of non-surgical options like Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, Ultherapy and Thermage would do well in combination for skin tightening for the neck. VASER Liposuction (with ThermiRF, Renuvion and InMode FaceTite) is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck and can be combined with a neck lift at the same time, if you're a candidate. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to develop a long-term treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer.
