Hi, I have a very healthy teeth , however my teeth doesn't show when i smile. I'm considering veneers but I prefer the prepless ones . I really don't want to drill my natural teeth. I hv seen couple of dentists out of the state and most of them said I'm a good candidate. However I'm concerned that the final result will look plasticy or bulky.. I live in Arizona and I'm welling to consult with doctors here .
Answer: How good does Prepless veneers look? Prepless veneers are the same as lumineers. They will not look good on everybody, however the color of existing teeth and their alignment and your BITE, is vital to determine if prepless veneers are the right choice for you! obviously since porcelain is added to your teeth they will look bulkier! Most people getting the prepless veneers are interested to get whiter color, and with the amount of porcelain required to make the porcelain natural, I must say lumineers or prepless veneers will not look very natural as opposed to porcelain veneer. We really need to have a complete evaluation by an expert cosmetic dentist.

Answer: Prep or no prep The one really great thing about prepress veneers is that you can simulate how they will look really easily. Because the underlying shape the tooth is not being changed, simply taking an impression and sending it to the lab will allow an additive wax simulation to be created. This is wax added onto the model of your teeth to show how the veneers can look. The dentist can easily copy this onto your own teeth and you can see how they look and feel, though shade cannot easily be transferred. You will probably find that your teeth will look bulky with these types of veneers but that is not always the case, else this product would nit be available. Good luck in discovering your ideal treatment. Kind regards Thomas Dey, BDS, MSc

Answer: Prepless Veneers Prepless veneers are not a good idea. They don't leave room for the actual veneer, so the teeth look bulky and thick and very unnatural. Additionally, you can end up with bone loss and gum recession because bacteria builds up in the area where the tooth meets the veneer (since there is no space for the veneer). Also, since the veneer is extremely thin, often times they can fracture. The best option would be to do minimal prep veneers. Please make sure you do your research and find a dentist that is very experienced with veneers and cosmetic procedures prior to having any treatment completed.

Answer: Prepless Veneers In my experience, very few patients qualify for truly "no-prep" veneers. In depends on the existing orientation of the teeth, your bite and the color of your teeth. Many times, minimal prep veneers will give you a better result to ensure there is proper thickness to the porcelain and to prevent the veneers from looking bulky. Of course, it all depends on the specifics of your case, sometimes prepless veneers can be done and give you a beautiful result
