More likely than not, the veneers can be redone if you are unhappy with how they look. The color of your veneers can be affected by the material of the ceramic, the cement used to secure the veneers, the color of your natural teeth underneath the veneers, and the type of lighting in your enviorment. A knowledgeable cosmetic dentist should take a lot of high quality macro photographs using proper lighting during the veneer design and delivery appointments to ensure proper color, shape and symmetry.
Hi:Normally veneers can be redone. The main issue is the amount of tooth structure remaining under the veneer, if not enough tooth sturcture then there might be nerve issues arising from redoing the veneers.Best,Dr. Maddahi
Hello,Yes they can absolutely be redone. Color size and shape can changed and tweaked. Good luck!
Yes, they can be redone. The newer porcelains are more life-likeand lively. The new whites are whiter and brighter. I am assuming your veneers are older.Find a great cosmetic dentist and you will love the results.
Hi Maggi, If you are dissatisfied with the color of your veneers, they may be redone. However, there are times when redoing the veneers means that additional tooth structure will inevitably be removed, in which case, you may need a full-coverage crown instead of a veneer. Veneers will not bond well if too much tooth is removed during preparation/drilling. I hope this helps!Cheers, -Miles
Yes, the color can be changed. You can also change any and all the dimensions, BUT you need to remove and destroy the veneer(s) in question. Some dentists will cut off your veneers and redo them until you are happy; perfection can be a learning process. The dilemma : it costs money to replace the veneers, sometimes $1000s of dollars. Who pays for the porcelain remake is the common question. This is a good question to ask your dentist BEFORE you commence treatment. Sometimes the dentist and patient learn what looks good DURING and AFTER the process of making the veneers. Achieving optimal esthetics is not a formula and the right color can be elusive depending on the color of your underlying tooth structure and the degree of darkness (shadow) you lip casts on your teeth. Many patients with excessive lip fillers are often unhappy with the final color of the porcelain - this is because the lip is unnaturally large and and light can not get past the lip to show the true whiteness of the porcelain. All these factors can make the optimal outcome elusive; even the best dentists need to remove and revise porcelain work occasionally to get the desired result.
Without seeing a picture it's tuff to give an accurate answer. However, the front teeth have a lot of enamel on the edges, sometimes 3-4mm before the underlying dentin is exposed (nerve bearing weaker tooth). This allows a dentist to reduce and reshape the front teeth with...
I agree with the other dentists on your question - it is very possible there is a problem with the bonding. There is a possibility however that your tooth is 'blushing'. This is where the preparation of the tooth went very close to the pulp and there is shine through of the pulp. The...
It's possible there was a bite issue before you had your veneers placed that has gotten progressively worse as it sometimes does. Assuming this is not the case--yes restorations that have affected the bite and caused an instability may cause some grinding. It could be that the restorations or t...
