I had a consult two years ago and due to my measurements, BWD 11.75, 5'4'', 110lbs, we decided on either 385 or 415 cc high profile implants. Fast forward to now and my measurements are BWD 11cm, 5'4'', 110lbs and the same surgeon says 240 cc moderate profile or 295 cc high profile is the maximum that I can go. What could be the reason for the decrease in BWD over this time? Can I go larger than 295 cc? Currently 30D looking to go 32DD (pre-breastfeeding size).

Answer: Implants Breast diameter is so inaccurate that I’m not surprised you would get different measurement especially if from two doctors. Some one came up with this dumb idea years ago and many surgeons adopted it. I think somebody your size would not want to go over 400 cc’s. A surgeon should just be able to look at a patient and ask you what size you want to be able to determine implant size.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear Modest769784, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
