Can I smoke cigarettes if I have done ThermiTight / Thermi RF?

Hello and thank you for your questions. As a general rule we encourage all of our patients to quit smoking following both invasive and noninvasive procedures. We do know that circulation issues are a problem and although it may not be a problem in a minimally invasive procedure such as thermitight it does cause some aging changes and poorer results regarding skin tightening. Certainly cutting back on the amount of cigarettes will be helpful. Best of luck with your continued recovery.

Smoking is one of the worst causes of premature aging of the skin and it causes problems with the blood circulation which can have a negative effect on healing. Since you had a minimal invasive procedure the risk is less than with a more involved procedure like a tummy tuck. However I always recommend all my patients to quit smoking at least 4 weeks before their procedures, not only to get the best result, but also for their own health. Good luck.

To answer your question, smoking probably will not cause circulatory problems with a minimally invasive procedure.  However, it will compromise the result.  You will not get the best outcome it you continue to smoke - forever.  Sorry
