Is it fine to consume alcohol after ThermiTight and Liposuction?

Question

Getting thermitight along with liposuction on the arms. I have a social event that I must attend 28 hours after my treatment and was wondering if it would be fine to consume alcohol (2-4 drinks) if I am not on any pain meds.

A day after getting liposuction and ThermiTight (a procedure we call ThermiSculpture at my center), you should be just fine having one or two drinks. However, more than that is never recommended. Depending on your skin quality, you may also want to consider noninvasive fat-elimination techniques, such as Vanquish, CoolSculpting and ThermiTight. Please consult your board-certified dermatologist to get recommendations on how to prepare and recover from your ThermiSculpture.

A small amount of alcohol will not compromise the results after treatment. I suggest you speak to your physician about their post operative protocols regarding alcohol.  Best, Dr. Emer

I would recommend not consuming alcohol for three reasons.  First, it thins the blood.  Second, you have an increased chance of injury due to decreased reflexes, coordination, etc.  Three, it's simply not necessary!   I hope this helps.  Best of luck, Dr. Giordano

I advice my patients to avoid drinking alcohol for 5 days before and after the procedure. Alcohol affects blood clotting and can increase bruising and swelling. 1 or 2 drinks is not going to cause any major problems, but to avoid any issues it would be best to wait a few days.
