I’m 7 months post op, and I have noticed my dip on my left side is back, making me bum look super weird. I have also discovered some lumps, can a traditional Lipo correct this or must it be a vaser procedure?
Answer: Considering BBL revision? You are in good company with many others who had high hopes for BBL but instead received disappointing results (lumpiness, unevenness, lack of projection in the central and/or lower buttock, post-deflation sagging, etc.) as most of the fat melts away. It is not quite as much the quality of the doctor nor liposuction technique but rather the quality of the procedure that is a large part of the problem. Thus, going back for round 2 BBL most often produces the same disappointing results but at another financial loss. Buttock implants indeed provide a more reliable, predictable, relatively safe, and permanent result, especially for adding projection to the buttock and often smoothing out lumpiness. Occasionally a lower buttock tuck may be advantageous for lower buttock fold asymmetries and/or sagging. Please keep in mind that an extremely few number of board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in buttock implants so be sure to consult with one that is reputable and experienced. Unfortunately you may have to travel long and far away from home to find this particular surgeon. Glad to help.

Answer: BBL revision Dear Ehinon, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: How important is Equipment When it comes to equipment I have a simple answer for you. For the most part every plastic surgeon in the United States has the equipment they need to do their job effectively. When the results turn out great or when they don’t it is never because the doctor didn’t have the right brand of equipment. Does adding an ultrasound probe treatment to traditional Liposuction have a big advantage? Certainly not when it comes to doing a BBL Revision. I have no idea what’s going on with your bottom and without having all the information I’m reluctant to even try to make an assessment. To make an assessment we need all of the pertinent information. This includes a list of every procedure including what was done and proper before and after pictures. If more than one procedure has been performed then we need proper before and after pictures for each procedure. In your case before seeking second opinion consultations you should have a copy of your medical record especially a copy of your operative portion and for sure all of your before and after pictures at hand to bring with you. Finding the most experienced surgeon is much more difficult than people believe. The only way to do it is to walk the walk and interview lots and lots of plastic surgeons through in person consultations. Plastic surgeons who are in their own league in regards to talent and skill tend to in general have immense collections of before and after pictures, tend to be a bowl and honest and often have the least number of justified negative reviews on various physician review websites. Good luck with your upcoming procedure or decision making. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
