My surgeon does not want to use dissolver, it’s getting worse. Now Malar bags! Should I do nothing? Get Restalyne? (Photos)

Everyone says get under eyes dissolved but I’ve read horror stories here. My eyes were perfect before this. My oculoplastic Dr. Wants to avoid dissolving. I’ve never tried Restalyne. Should I do that?Or dissolve?or nothing?Which brand is best to dissolve? I’m 48, fair,very thin& delicate skin.My history: 11/17 med spa injected volbella.Then 12/17 went to Dr, he injected my cheeks w/ voluma, it hid lumps but it didn’t last. Then end of 2017 Dr. Put belatero under eyes, now bags!

If an in-person evaluation determines that the filler is the cause of your undereye puffiness then I would recommend having it dissolved with Hyaluronidase. Though it may take a couple of sessions, it is a safe process when performed by an experienced injector. You can then start over with a different injector or different filler. I have seen a lot of issues with Volbella when it is injected improperly by inexperienced injectors. More important than the type of filler is the skill of the person doing the injecting. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician. Best wishes.

If you are convinced the puffiness is from filler, then it should definitely be dissolved. If you see someone experienced with this procedure, it is extremely safe.

Thank you for your question. If you are certain that your puffiness is due to filler it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. It can take multiple treatments of hyaluronidase to fully dissolve the filler. I recommend finding an injector who is willing to dissolve your filler. Best of Luck!

I think the best thing to do is dissolve the filler using hyaluronidase and then reinject as needed with Restylane.

Thank you for your question.  If you are certain the puffiness is due to filler, it should be treated with hyaluronidase like Hylenex.  That being said Volbella being a Vycross filler is very difficult to dissolve and will take large volumes of hyaluronidase and may take multiple treatments.  If you have nodules, these could be Vycross nodules which are currently underreported in the literature.  Please follow up with an expert Board Certified Dermatologist, PS, Oculoplastics for proper evaluation and management.  Unfortunately we are seeing many complications from medspas with little to no training.  Kind Regards, Dr. Matt Elias

If you believe the issue is being caused by either the filler being too much or too superficial, then dissolving the filler will help the situation. Using Wydase is a straight forward injection that works almost immediately.

Best to seek expert injecting MDs whom have done hyaluronidase dissolver injections. Fee per sessions is $500. After dissolved wait 6 months than try again HA fillers slowly in weekly sessions to build up the valleys and avoid the hills in the tear troughs and malar areas.
