I had Restalyn injected into my Glabella and Botox at the same time. Can filler cause blindness days or weeks after injection?

I'm nervous because I read that blockage of blood vessels can occur from external compression of the blood supply by surrounding filler or swelling causing blindness. I also read that filler can accidentally seep into blood vessels and find its way into the eyes artery causing blindness.

No. Fillers cannot cause blindness, which is a rare complication of fillers, after days or weeks from the time of the injection. Filler material can enter the blood vessels in the glabella and may travel to the eye vessels, but most events occur soon thereafter the injection. I think once you're past 24 hours, you're probably safe.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

if you were to get occlusion you would have seen the results of it relatively quickly, its not as common to have a delayed reaction.  I suggest you see an expert if you are concerned but symptoms such as redness, abnormal pain, skin color change would be noticeable.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Blindness has been reported to occur with injections of any sort in the area of the glabella although very rare. Rest assured that this will not occur to you as the effect is immediate and during the inejction process and you are beyond that
