Hyaluronic-acid based dermal fillers such as Volbella and Juvederm can create more volume in your lips, and give them a more upturned look. You have probably lost some bone in your jaw because dentures don’t produce the same kind of positive stressful pressures on the gums and jawbones that natural teeth do. If you can afford it, I’d suggest getting dental implants, which will slow down or stop the bone loss. Meantime, fillers can plump your lips and smooth out the vertical lines. Consulting with a board-certified dermatologist will help you find the best solutions.
foxxred33. Photos would be helpful, but lip augmentation with Juvederm Ultra plus may very well improve your particular situation. The vertical lines however, need to be treated with a different filler. Be certain to consult with the board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist. Best of luck.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Unfortunately without support by the underlying teeth the lips will curve inward and will not be appreciably helped by dermal filler placement, but will have the vertical lines improved. I would talk to your dentist and see what alternatives exist to help you improve both areas.
Because of the lack of alveolar bone support the lips will roll in making them look very thin. Aging will also contribute to vertical wrinkle lines. The best approach are vermilion advancements to roll the lips back. This is not only a permanent procedure but will also remove some of the vertical lines as well.
Lip filers should definitely help with the vertical lines and also help lift the lips to reduce the caved in appearance. Sometimes a bit of neurotoxin (Botox) can help also. Another option would be a thread lift. Choice of treatment will depend on clinical evaluation by an experienced doctor. Hope this helps.
The longest lasting filler is Silikon 1000, but I don't recommend it. It's a permanent filler and if it lumps it will stay for a while. I personally recommend Juvederm. The results are great and it can be reversed if necessary.
Hello and thank you for your question. First of all the most important factor in lip augmentation is not what is injected but rather the knowledge and experience of the injector. Personally, I like Juvederm Ultra XC in the lips. When injected appropriately (not "ducking") your boyfriend wo...
Hi @em93x. Technique and product choice is everything! I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
