How overweight can you be to get the fat transfer/grafting procedure done?

Question

I am thinking about having the fat transfer procedure done. I want to remove fat from my belly, love handles, and arms and then transfer it to my breasts, lips, and laugh lines. I am wondering how to know if I'm too over weight, and around how much does it cost?

Fat transfer to the face requires a very small amount of fat ( teaspoons), and even thin patients have enough fat. For fat transfer to the breast, many patients have had success with modest amounts of fat, and essentially normal body weight.  In your situation, I would focus on making sure your expectations match the surgeons prediction of outcome. Fat transfer to the breast is not a straightforward procedure.

Fat transfer to breast, face and buttocks have become very common procedures with good results. As for weight, you and your plastic surgeon has to discuss the risks of surgery anesthesia and your BMI/weight to make a safe decision together. I recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to make your decision.

For  successful fat transfers, fat must be available to be transferred. I have some several women who were overweight and normal weight. Women who are underweight are often not good candidates. I would suggest finding a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who does fat transfers to discuss all your concerns.

You don't need to be overweight to have a fat transfer procedure, especially if it is to the face. Most women have enough fat in their thighs to have some breast improvement after fat transfer. See link below for examples.
