Wearing horse riding helmet after Botox?

Studies have shown botox binding to it's receptor happens within a few hours; my recommendation to my patients is, just to be safe, to wait until the following day before performing activities that could cause pressure on the areas injected.

I think waiting 24 hours after your Botox treatment would be fine before wearing your horse riding helmet.

Always follow the instructions of the person doing the procedure, as it is their responsibility to inform you of the aftercare. In my practice, I wouldn't make you wait that long. The Botox is saturated into all of the receptors in your muscles after only a few hours. For a riding helmet, I would worry more about dirt/dust/sweat and waiting for the needle pricks to close themselves up, so I would say to wait 24 hours for that activity.

Raising your blood pressure during a strenuous workout, or even doing a downward dog in yoga, can lead to additional swelling in the injection areas. Doing too much too soon can lead to painful bruising and swelling, and even alter your BOTOX results. So, take a week off and if you must do something, go for a walk. Botox takes three to seven days to take full effect.

Good Afternoon! In general, I have patients avoid excessive activity for 12-24 hours if possible. As for a helmet, I would think a similar timeframe. If you try the Botox and notice a difference in wearing the helmet and its effects, try spacing them out more. Hope that helps.
