Yes. this is quite common in the early stages after the skin has been taped and covered by the splint for a week or so. There are a variety of products and treatments that we recommend to our rhinoplasty patients for this if they don't have a dermatologist or skin care regimen. Best to inquire a t your doctor's office for advice.
Thank you for your question. After rhinoplasty, skin can often appear more oily and pores seem larger due to swelling. This can be especially evident in the thicker skin overlying the nasal tip. In addition, the presence of tapes and splinting required for post-operative rhinoplasty care can be irritating to sensitive skin. These changes are self limited and usually resolve over several weeks. I expect within a few more weeks your swelling will have decreased further and the skin changes you note will resolve.
