4 weeks post-op. How is my recovery of upper eye lids after blepharoplasty? (photos)

Thank you for your pictures. Your incision is typical of a message at four weeks. It will take at least 3 to 4 months for the incisions to soften and start to fade. The only issue I have with your incision is that it appears to be a little high at the ends and doesn't follow the natural curvature of the upper eyelid.

You look to be healing well.  Upper lids will often remain red or purple for awhile.  The irregularity in skin texture will also improve with time.  Remember too that with your eye open, you will not see the incision.    

It can take months for the scar to fade in color.  You did not proved a photo of you with your eyes open.  To me that is a much better test of how good the eyelid surgery was.  You can expect improvement of the upper eyelid scar over the next 4 to 6 months.

Thanks for the question.  Your incision appears completely normal for 4 weeks post procedure.  The color and texture are to be expected this early after surgery.  It will take at least 6 months for them to soften and fade.  Most of that will happen over the next few months.  I would reassure you that this is completely normal for this type of surgery.  The incision can not be seen when your eye is open and you can always use a little make up to soften the color.  As always, discuss this with your surgeon, especially before you use anything to cover the incisions.
