Why does my lower eye lid crease when I smile?

My right eye squints and gets a deep crease on my lower eye lid causing my eyes to appear different and look rather awkward. Is it a lazy eye, ptosis? What can be done fix it?

This is your lower eyelid crease.  It is attached to the lower eyelid retractors and actives during a smile.  This tells others that you are actually mean your smile.  Absence of this would look unusual.

A crease of the lower eyelid area when smiling is normal and becomes more prominent with age. The lower eyelid crease is from muscle activity. If the appearance is bothersome to you, then you may consider Botox Cosmetic or Dysport to help relax that muscle and soften the crease. Speak with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in your area.
