My hemoglobin is good but my iron count is low, am I still able to get a bbl?

I was told to have my hemoglobin over 12, I'm at 11.7 so I can get it up to 12 by February 14th (surgery day). I recently found out my IRON count is low, but my hemoglobin is alright. Will getting a bbl be okay if my hemoglobin goes up but my iron is still a little low? Is it dangerous?

Thank you for your question, Its very important for a patient to have their blood work within a normal range before surgery. I would advice to keep taking iron pills and vitamins every day, you still have enough time before your procedure.

It is important for your blood count to be in a good range when getting a BBL surgery. Each surgeon has a different threshold. It is not uncommon to have to postpone a surgery if the count is low. It may take several weeks, or months, to get it up.

A normal hemoglobin level is important so that you can heal properly. Best to continue your supplements and repeat your blood work and of course be followed closely by your doctor.
