I had a chin inj. with radiesse in august 15. sadly it went wrong and the sides of my chin got thick+swollen. my doctor gave me cortison inj. to trim down the knots. now i got holes instead. also my jawline is uneven and looks like a double chin. is it possible to suck the lumps out? my doctor wants to fill up the wholes, but i feel like i want to get rid of the lups that make my jawline uneven first. i like to have a fine jawline, very straight like before. I marked my lumps red.
Answer: Be conservative first Before I would inject any other substance to either fill or "unfill" the area in question, I would recommend trying to rid yourself of the original product. Your physician might try injecting saline into the areas previously injected then use a vigorous massage to help break up the Radiesse and allow it to be more quickly absorbed. This might have to be done several times. Good luck.

Answer: Surgical vs non-surgical removal of Radiesse Radiesse is a stimulatory filler that is an excellent option for patients who desire a longer-lasting filler alternative to hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. In our office, we use Radiesse to complement structural areas of the face and contour bony prominences. Our office also is a center of excellence for filler complication treatments and we see patients who have been treated by other doctors and have undesirable results from Radiesse or other long-lasting fillers. We have treatment options available for Radiesse filler nodules, granulomas, and soft tissue thickening. The first step would be to diagnose the nodularity and determine whether there is an option for surgical vs. non-surgical removal. Surgical excision is a possibility in some patients; whereas others with more diffuse fillers may benefit from intralesional therapy using scar modulators and enzymes and kenalog. Radiesse complications may be long-lasting and prompt action is key. Patients who have no access to an expert in the field should begin gentle massage of the areas of nodularity with Plato’s Scar Serum twice daily. RF and invasive lasers can actually do more damage by stimulating further collagen growth. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Radiesse in chin Clearly you had an unfavorable reaction to Radiesse in you chin area. This is uncommon but it happened. Injecting steroid then caused fat atrophy and now the lumps you have are likely the residual Radiesse? You have a difficult and serious problem. The solution is elusive and ranges from doing nothing but watch and wait it out to some active intervention. You must consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist and work closely with that person. You problem is solvable but it will take time and patience. My Best, Dr Commons
