Can a thread lift help with hollow eyes?

Question

Hello. I'm 22 years old and I have a mild hollowing under my eyes. I'm scared of fillers because of the risk of blindness and I think I'm too young for a blepharoplasty. I read that threads can add volume to the cheek and chin areas so I wondered if they can also help restore volume under the eyes. I have very mild hollows so I don't need a lot of filling.

An excellent way to treat hollow lower eyelids is the use of PDO threads as fillers.  They work by stimulating your tissue to form collagen.  This may last for a couple of years.
Another good way is to use micro- and nano-fat injection from your own body.  Some of them will disappear with time but part of it will stay for a very long time.  You can always supplement it by more injections later.

Thank you for sharing your question. Both products work for the tear troughs. I prefer fillers, because there is immediate improvement and results can be titrated as the area is filled. Make sure your treatment is performed by an experienced eyelid specialist for this delicate area. Good luck!

Hello and thank you for your awesome question.  This is a very common problem that I usually get asked about 3 times a day.  I am glad you are considering using PDO Threads to help. This thread can be used alone for volume or with filler.  It helps the filler by keeping it in place.  I personally like the results that I am seeing without the use of filler. It would be difficult to give an assessment without any photo provided. Threads are usually used to lift sagging skin and decrease wrinkles, but sometimes threads are used to add volume to an area. However, it would be best to schedule an appointment with a board certified occuloplastic surgeon for an in person examination and a detailed discussion of your surgical and non surgical options.
