I am concerned of the dark shaded puffy under eye bags. This is something recent from the beginning of this year. Please help me understand the pros & cons/ risks of having fillers.

Answer: Dark Circles and Tear Trough -- Combination of Fillers With Cannulas like Restylane and Belotero or Sublative/viva with Micropen There are many ways to treat dark circles, as well as under eye wrinkles and bags. It is important to note however, that the majority of times the cause for discoloration is genetic and due to the viability of the blood vessels below the skin. A combination approach is always needed to get the best results in this area and this includes: topical skin care, laser and/or radiofrequency treatments, and fillers if placed appropriately with cannulas.

Answer: Fillers Work Well For Treating Tear Troughs, Dark Circles & Bags Under The Eyes In experienced hands, the use of fillers has become almost routine these days for treating tear troughs, dark circles, and bags under the eyes. Treatment usually takes no more than five minutes per under eye and the results are immediate and often engender a Wow! response. My favorite filler for this purpose in my Upper East Side Manhanttan office is Belotero Balance, which has little to no tendency to engender the unwanted bluish Tyndall Effect when injected superficially into the delicate tissues under the eyes, combined with a tiny amount of Radiesse, a whitish colored filler that can help to lighten the dark circles when used in this fashion. In my Israel satellite office, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers and volumizers are available, I prefer Teosyal Redensity II for this purpose combined with the Radiesse. Make sure that you seek out a physician injector with experience and expertise in treating the under eye region and ask to see his/her before and after photos.

Answer: Filler for dark circles Yes, you can consider filler injection in the hollow under eye area to improve the dark circle appearance. Sometimes another option is lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning if there is truly prolapsed fat. Best to see an oculoplastic specialist.

Answer: You can minimize the tear troughs Thanks for the question and thanks for the photo as well. You have tear troughs and with appropriate use of skin care and the proper filler, you can minimize this considerably. We recommend that you consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon and learn the various treatment options for you. We recommend the use of Belotero or Restylane Silk in the tear trough areas – these work very well in this area. As well, you need skin care – and many of the cosmeceutical companies have eye creams that may help minimize the color changes as well.
