I fell while skiing after facelift

If you don't see any bruising or swelling, you are probably OK. However it wouldn't hurt to check in with your surgeon who knows you best. Good luck.

Thank you for your question.  I high double that by what you have describe that your fell would have damaged your face.  6 weeks is a good time after a facelift for a lot of the healing and settling to be performed.  If you are concerned do have a follow up with your surgeon.  All The Best 

It's highly improbable, based on the description, that you have damaged your facelift result; 6 weeks is usually sufficient time to reasonably expect that you can resume all activities without consequence. .  However, the definitive answer ought to come from your Surgeon who knows the extent of your procedure.  

I think that your final comment is the pivotal one.  If you don't see any visible injury to your face after your fall then it is unlikely that there is any injury to your surgical result.  I will however, modify my activity discussion with my patients who are undergoing facelift surgery in the winter to perhaps holding off on challenging slopes for about two months after surgery.

Usually, patients would have resumed all routine activities 6 weeks after a facelift. From the information in the question, it seems unlikely that you have damaged your face while sustaining an injury from the fall. It is best to consult your plastic surgeon for your concerns and whether you need any specific treatment with regards to sustaining an injury after your recent facelift procedure.I hope this helps.

Based on your description of your fall, and lack of any significant signs of bruising of swelling after, I would highly doubt you have done any damage.  Icing the traumatized area may be of value.

Hi - yikes that is quite a fall.  I am happy to hear that you didn't have anything more extensive happen.  As for your surgery.  First - as a surgeon, thank you for waiting 6 weeks until going out and getting active in life again.  From a healing standpoint of "will anything move or get jolted out of place", you should be okay - but - that also depends on what techniques your surgeon used to perform your facelift.  Some techniques need a little more time to heal than others.  I highly recommend that you get an appointment with your surgeon and have them look at things.  Otherwise, bruising, swelling etc will continue to improve with time.  If you have a lot of swelling on the face you may want to utilize your face compression garment at night for a few hours a day.

I would not expect there to be any damage to your facelift results 6 weeks after surgery. By 6 weeks the incisions and deep tissues should have healed well enough to withstand such an injury. I would still recommend you follow up with your surgeon so that he or she can assess your face and determine if any injuries are present.
