Can a Breast Implant capsule trap/wrap/effects nerves in breast causing pain?

Question

So I have decided to remove my implants and seen 2 surgeons. Both were great but different, 1 recommends due to my nerve pain to do a totally capsulectomy as a nerve may be wrap into the capsule. 2nd recommended not moving capsule as he believes due to becoming pregnant and my breasts stretching that it’s stretching the nerves and that the capsule has nothing to do with nerve pain My implants are currently under the muscle. I’m so confused as both have such different opinions?

It is not possible to diagnose if the implants and/or capsules are involved in your nerve pain.  If you decide to remove the capsules and the pain resolves then it was likely related to that situation.  If you choose to leave the capsules behind and the pain continues you won't know whether it's related to the capsules or not.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. generally speaking, it is better to remove the whole capsule in case of capsular contracture. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
