Hello,Thank you for the question. Typically, patients may resume exercising and weight lifting 4 weeks after breast surgery, but it can also depend on the individual healing time. I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. Best wishes and good luck. Dear h2ogirl8,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for the question. Draining the saline implants should not prevent you from exercising, although you should discuss this with your plastic surgeon to make sure. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Double board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, Houston. TX.
Discuss with your surgeon, but, deflation is a simple needle stick. I personally tell patients to wear a fairly snug sports bra for 3 weeks or so, but activity is not restricted in most cases. Good luck, Jane.
Yes you may resume exercise after getting saline implant drained. I highly recommend an adequate sports bra.
Typically my patients are able to resume regular activity the day after having saline implants electively deflated in the office. This is of course dependent on several factors including the method of deflation, your overall health, any medications that you may be on, bleeding risk, etc, so the decision is best made individually by the provider actually performing your deflation. Hope that helps.Best,Dr. Perez
I would be careful for a few days to minimize the risk of bleeding. A needle, not small, will be placed through your breasts and into the implant. You may then be bound somewhat tightly to help minimize the risk of a seroma.
You should still be able to continue to exercise after having your saline implants deflated as long as you wear a supportive sports bra. However it is always best to discuss this with your surgeon as opinions may vary.
Hi @dragon95, thank you for your question. It is possible that the underlying cause of your symptoms may be related to the attachment of your pectoralis muscle to the chest wall. However, a thorough consultation and examination would be necessary to determine the cause of the problem and treat...
Your should have a substantial volume reduction with explantation and mastopexies (breast lifts). For the most accurate outcome, it would be prudent for you to wait until you have reached or come close to your desired weight.
Compression deformities from implants do occur and may be revealed by explantation. Patients tend to have gradual improvement improvement over time. If your condition persists, discuss treatment options with your surgeon.
